A Home for Healing

Children and youth in our residential treatment homes are referred by the Department of Children and Family Services. Volunteers are always needed to help with tutoring, recreational activities and beautification of the homes.

Parker House

Parker House is a ten-bed residential treatment center for children, ages 3-13, who have been severely traumatized through abuse and neglect.  The program provides a safe, family-like home for young victims of child abuse to heal from past trauma and prepare for family level care.  Treatment includes intensive counseling sessions in which the children learn to trust again, overcome fears and are able to express and control their emotions.

Baton Rouge Youth

Baton Rouge Youth is a residential treatment facility for 9 abused and neglected young women, ages 11-17 years. Referrals are received from the Office of Community Services. The facility is certified to serve youth in need of a controlled residential treatment setting and provides the opportunity for youth to heal from past trauma and prepare for emancipation from foster care.

The teens at Baton Rouge Youth develop independent living skills to successfully transition into productive citizens within their communities.  Our teens attend school within the Baton Rouge community and are encouraged to participate in extracurricular school activities.
