Affordable Housing

Volunteers of America is the largest provider of affordable housing in the nation.  These programs exist so that individuals and families can find safe housing that is "affordable," meaning that housing costs no more than 30 percent of annual income.  Families who pay more are considered cost burdened.

Adult Housing- Supervised Residential Care
Supervised Residential Care which is site-based provides adults with mental illness with 24-hour residential care which prevents homelessness or the need for psychiatric hospitalization and provides individualized supports and services to recipients within their own homes so that they may live independently in the community.  Services may include 24-hour supervision, room, board, medication management, training in independent living skills, linkages to community resources, supportive counseling with emphasis on medication compliance, interpersonal skills and problem-solving, and crisis response and prevention.
