The Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Improving early literacy & fostering a love of reading among children and their families

To better prepare Louisiana's young children for successful literacy in kindergarten, VOAGBR’s Partnerships in Child Care program has teamed up with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to provide children birth to age 5 with a monthly, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home. Our local efforts are part of the successful national program founded by Dolly Parton in her home state of Tennessee.

With the help of corporate sponsorships, grants, and individual donations, VOAGBR works to provide books to children and families in 10 parishes: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.

$150 = cost of providing an Imagination Library book to one child each month for 5 years!

All children currently enrolled in the Imagination Library program will continue to be enrolled until aged out upon their 5th birthday. New enrollment will begin on April 1, 2021 based on funding availability.
