Are you an expecting parent or the parent of an infant, toddler or preschool child?

As a state-designated Resource and Referral Agency, Volunteers of America can help you get started on your search for quality child care! We can provide you with custom, computerized referrals to licensed child care centers and family child care providers in your area.

Referral services available for the following parishes:
Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Livingston, Rapides, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Vermilion, Vernon, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana

To request your custom referral, call our toll-free number below or complete our easy online form.

Our custom list of child care options is based on the following criteria: 

  • The age of your child
  • The type of schedule you work and care is needed
  • The location you prefer
  • The type of environment you prefer; such as smoke free, no pets, etc
  • The special needs of your child; for example a provider with special needs training


Choosing the right care for your child is a choice that only you, the parent, can make.  Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge does not rate or recommend specific child care providers. It is up to you to evaluate the quality of care being provided by each provider.
