Terry Anderson has over 25 years of work experience in financial accounting and management. Terry first came to Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge in 2009 as Controller and served briefly as Interim CFO before being promoted to Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer in March 2106. Terry is responsible for financial activities and financial reporting of the agency with responsibility to the President, Executive Board, Finance Committee, Audit Committee, and the National organization. Before his recent entrance into the not-for-profit arena, Terry first gained his experience in the for-profit sector with global organizations like The Weather Channel, GE Capital, and Sodexo USA.
Terry is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with active memberships in the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and Society of Louisiana CPAs (LCPA). He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University where he was a member of The Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
Terry is currently involved with managing the financial support and reporting requirements of programs and services to veterans, children and youth, persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and chronic or severe mental illnesses. He is married to Samantha Anderson, a third grade teacher with the St. Tammany Parish School Board, and they have two children, Katherine and Ryan. In his spare time, Terry is a PTA member, plays golf, and is a life-long New Orleans Saints fan and season ticket holder.
